How we work
STHLM City Cyclist is run by a small editorial team with a passion for cycling. Here we describe openly how our content is created.
Original content
Cycling routes, guides, Commuter Index and Rain Radar are produced in-house. Route data is built on open sources like OpenStreetMap and complemented with our own knowledge of the routes. Weather data comes from SMHI’s open APIs and is processed with our own model. Rain Radar combines radar images from RainViewer with forecast data from SMHI, presented in our own map view. The Road Works service shows ongoing road works using data from the Swedish Transport Administration’s open API, presented in our own map view with a focus on what affects cyclists.
News monitoring with AI support
Parts of our international news monitoring are produced with AI support: articles from established cycling media are summarized and rewritten into Swedish. Each such article is based on a named original source, and we always indicate where the news comes from. A person is responsible for publication.
