Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift 2026 is in full swing, and aside from following the excitement of the race, it’s hard not to get captivated by the technical display that the 21 teams deliver. From top-tier WorldTour teams to wild wildcard surprises – the race has become a living exhibition for the cycling industry.
Specialized dominates, Canyon and Cannondale follow
In total, 14 bicycle brands are represented among the participating teams. Specialized is the most visible brand – four teams race on S-Works Tarmac SL9 or SL8: AG Insurance-Soudal, FDJ United-Suez, SD Worx-Protime, and VolkerWessels. Canyon has three teams on its Aeroad CFR frames (Canyon//SRAM, Fenix-Premier Tech, and Movistar), while Cannondale supplies EF Education-Oatly and St Michel-Preference Home-Auber93 with SuperSix EVO. Factor has two teams, just as in previous years.
In terms of drivetrains, SRAM Red AXS is the most common component with eight teams, while the rest mostly run Shimano Dura-Ace. Cofidis stands out as the only team with Campagnolo – Super Record 13 – on its Look 795 Blade RS 3.
Chinese brands make their debut
One of the most interesting developments is that two Chinese bicycle brands have secured spots in the field via wildcard teams. Laboral Kutxa-Fundacion Euskadi runs XDS X-Lab AD9, while Mayenne Monbana My Pie opts for Winspace SLC 5.0 – and also rolls on Winspace’s own Lun Hyper wheels. It’s a clear sign that Chinese manufacturers are beginning to establish themselves on the biggest stage of elite cycling.
Ultegra instead of Dura-Ace – does it matter?
All WorldTour teams run their respective brands’ top components, but two wildcard teams – VolkerWessels and Mayenne Monbana My Pie – compete with Shimano Ultegra instead of Dura-Ace. In practice, it’s a marginal difference: the internal components are identical, but Ultegra is slightly heavier. Additionally, Ultegra lacks the pro option with 54/40t chainrings, but Dura-Ace chainrings are interchangeable and can be installed if needed.
SpongeBob and custom-painted frames steal the show
Technology is one thing – but the visual side of the race is equally entertaining. Factor has set a creativity record with a SpongeBob SquarePants design on their One aero bikes, ridden by both Human Powered Health and Ma Petite Entreprise during stages 1 and 2. The lighter Ostro VAM frames, however, stuck to more restrained colors.
Trek presented a special edition of the Madone SLR 9, SD Worx-Protime started with multi-colored Tarmac SL9 frames – but switched back to black when the terrain profile got tougher on stage 3. Cofidis mixed black with the so-called Iconic Prism scheme on its Look frames.

More than just equipment
Tour de France Femmes is not just a bike race – it’s a platform that puts serious focus on women’s cycling. For those of us who cycle in Stockholm on a daily basis, it might feel far away, but the technology tested in these mountains and on these roads often shows up in bike shops on Södermalm a couple of years later. Keeping tabs on equipment developments is also a way to follow the future of the sport.
